How to Stay Healthy this Festive Season
Holidays are always extra special because we mostly tend to spend these days with our loved ones. Be it baking, a game of monopoly, or watching a movie together, holidays are something that everyone looks forward to.
On the flip side, holidays also include binge-eating cookies and lying on the couch watching TV the whole day, which in turn might affect your health in the long run.
Here are some tips for you to have a healthy winter holiday this year
Drink enough water
Even though you may not feel thirsty frequently, drink at least 8 cups of water every day. A glass of water with and after every meal will keep you hydrated and ward off infections or diseases.
Stress Less
Remember the project you always put off for another day? Or that book that you wanted to read but never got the time to? Taking a breather from the stress of everyday routine can help you refresh and be more productive. Treat this time like a break that will help you rejuvenate.
Be sure to sleep right
During holidays, we tend to maximise our time off to extend the day for as long as we can. This is why we need to regulate our sleep time so that our inner clock is not compromised.
Do not forget to move
The cold weather can sometimes discourage you from keeping up with your fitness routine. Digital workouts are a wonderful way to get you moving in the comfort of your own home.
Keep an eye on the diet
Having a balanced diet is important in maintaining a strong immune system. So while you might want to indulge a little, try to follow a balanced diet rich in a healthy mix of whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and lean protein. While December tends to be the sweetest month of the year and it’s very easy to overindulge with sweet treats and cheat meals, be sure to keep a close eye on your health. End the year on a healthy note and stick to your wellness routines as you move into 2022.
